Early child screening is key to providing an effective literacy program. Each aspect of HTLC curriculum, combined with the assessment initiatives set by DE State guides when selecting screening tools. Mrs. Mallick is certified and trained to administer the Red Leaf Assessment for Family Child Care and ASQ-3 Questionnaire in a wide range of setting. Online questionnaire completion with ASQ Family Access saves times and reduces mailing costs. Parents will get a secure, customize website where they complete the questionnaire and gets the results electronically. Mrs. Mallick has an online access from Brooks Publishing to score accurately the questionnaire. For more information of ASQ-3, please refer www.agesandstages.com

The Red Leaf Assessment and Ages and Stages Assessment tool (ASQ-SE& ASQ -3) creates a reliable, research-based profile of a child’s detailed development. These scores assist Mrs. Mallick in planning and creating meaningful daily lessons and goals for each child. The observations collected on your child, guide the plans to take current skills and reach new heights through scaffolding during unique learning experiences. These tools measure your child’s knowledge of important emergent literacy fundamentals, such as name writing, alphabet knowledge, print/word awareness, literacy concepts, developing language and quantitative mathematics concepts. By employing these standards, our children consistently outperform the national standards year after year. The reports and content are aligned to State and National Early Learning Standards, including “The Common Core”. We conduct these bi-annual assessments to evaluate our preschoolers’ progress. This assessment will be shared with your family formally twice each school year.

Objective Anecdotal Notes are recorded by Mrs. Mallick while observing children in all areas of the room and at various times of day during the daily routine. These notes are compiled over spans of time and recorded into each child portfolio.
